We’re going RACING!
It’s been 357 days & counting, since I last drove Relentless down a track. A lot of people have asked why I haven’t raced this year, and there really isn’t one simple answer. Have you seen the price of diesel?! The rising cost of fuel, parts, and everything else has definitely been part of it.
But seriously, the biggest reason is that, for more than 10 years, I’ve put racing ahead of myself, my health, and my family. After years of nonstop hustle and sacrifice, I needed to slow down. So this year, I chose to put my health and my family first.
And honestly? It felt great. I’ve been able to work on my mental and physical health, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy the little things again.
That doesn’t mean I haven’t missed racing—because I have. A LOT. I’m so excited to head to Bowling Green, Kentucky, next week for Holley’s Ford Fest! It’s one of my favorite races of the year, and I didn’t want to miss it.
The only way to make it happen was to borrow a supercharger head unit, since I sold mine (Shoutout to Kelly Shotwell!). I put this girl back together the way she was and am going to enjoy her. I know she was supposed to have a turbo by now, but maybe it’s fate? We’ll see what happens next with that.
For now, I just can’t wait for the race car noises and smells, some passes down the track, and most of all, seeing my race car family. I’ve missed my peeps!
Update:Super bummed out about having to make the decision to miss Ford Fest…unfortunately the weather forecast was the ultimate factor…I really miss driving this car! May try to hit Milan’s Heads Up race next Friday…I’ll keep ya updated!
